I can understand that Liverpool don’t have much cash and are searching around for bargains but it’s only my faith in Rafa’s shrewd managerial skills that keeps me from being totally disappointed by our summer signings. An irritating, mouthy moaner and a potentially talented bloke who can’t keep himself out of trouble.
Wenger is no fool and he could see problems a long time ago. And Pennant’s price doesn’t really seem that much of a bargain anyway. Their talent is there for everyone to see but building a good team is about a whole lot more than just individual ability. It’s good to see Rafa considering things such as their boyhood support of the club and maybe people deserve a second or third or fourth chance! But are we taking a few too many risks in the search for bargain buys?
It’s just a bit disappointing when your club shells out a lot of cash on summer signings that you find it very hard to warm to.

Briefly: glad we're showing ambition to challenge for the title, splashing some cash at least. Happy with Bellamy - to an extent: could prove to be disruptive? Great player, clearly has problems, I'm telling myself that cos it's the club he supported as a boy he'll knuckle down. Pennant - worries me. Pennant and Bellamy out on the booze in Liverpool together - serious concern. The other players are, let's be honest, unproven in the Premiership so let's hold fire.
Nice to see God get his rightful No. 9 back, anyway.
