UEFA has confirmed the 2006/07 UEFA Champions League lineup with 73 sides all dreaming of making their mark in European football's premier club competition.


The action starts on 11/12 July with three qualifying rounds to be played until 22/23 August to determine the remaining 16 clubs going through to the group stage. The draw for the group stage will be held in Monaco on 24 August.


The first 16 are: FC Barcelona, Real Madrid CF, Chelsea FC, Manchester United FC, Juventus, AC Milan, Olympique Lyonnais, FC Girondins de Bordeaux, FC Bayern München, Werder Bremen, FC Porto, Sporting Clube de Portugal, PSV Eindoven, Olympiacos CFP, RSC Anderlecht and Celtic FC. The 2007 final will be played in Athens on 23 May.


Liverpool and Arsenal are set to enter the third qualifying round, but there's no chance of them facing each other as teams from the same country cannot meet at this stage.


The final will be held at the Olympic Stadium in Athens.
