STEVEN GERRARD has insisted that he's more concerned with beating Sweden than once again missing out on the Queen's Honours List.
Sunday Mirror Sport can reveal that senior football administrators are already making representations to ensure that the Liverpool captain does get recognised for his services to football in the New Year's list after a furious reaction on Merseyside to his omission.
Liverpool were unhappy that Gerrard was not honoured last year after leading the club to a fifth European Cup.
But Gerrard said:
"I didn't even know about it until it was mentioned to me.
"To be honest, I'm not that bothered. The only thing that matters to me at this moment in time is getting three points off Sweden." 
I mean alright, I agree, he should have got the royal nod - but lets face it, the World Cup's on now, surely that's of far more significance....
