Did Derek Acorah (real name Derek Johnson) ever play for Liverpool?

Says Acorah:

I always wanted to be a professional footballer and at 15 I realised my dream and became an apprentice footballer with Liverpool Football Club," he revealed in an interview for It's Fate magazine.

"I played many times with Liverpool's reserve team but sadly never made it to the first team. Years later a medium brought through the spirit of Bill Shankly (my 'boss' at Liverpool FC), and she told me, 'the boss says you're going to score more goals in your work now than you did at Liverpool!' (referring to my work as a medium).
After Liverpool I played for Glentoran in Ireland and then moved to Australia to play professional football there [for USC Lion]. Sadly a knee injury finished off my footballing career.

Well that's fucking bizarre, Acorah was in his 30s when Shankly died in 1981. He'd already been a 'professional medium' for several years before that. This guy must be a friggin' genius - he managed to get a spiritual message from Shankley while the old fella was still living in Bellefield.

In fairness to Dez, though, I want to thank him for not winning the lottery every week. He's graciously recognised that he makes enough from exploiting Old Dears and Fruitcakes and so can afford to leave the lottery money for the rest of us saps.

More proof of the man's good will is the fact that he's not picked up a GUARANTEED $1million that could be his for nothing.

Back in the late 80s, an American called Dr. James Randi set up his 'Million Dollar Challenge' offering a cool million to anbody who could prove that they could do anything psychic whatsoever - to date, nobody's even tried. Surely Derek with his monster skills could walk it and chuck the money into our Youth Policy.
